About CivicMark
What It Is
CivicMark is an open standard for baseline civil discourse. No organization, no fees, no gatekeepers. Just a shared understanding that we can coexist and communicate constructively.
Why It Exists
In a world of increasing polarization and declining moral values, CivicMark provides a simple, unchanging baseline for civil interaction. It's not about perfect behavior or agreeing with everyone, it's about maintaining basic standards that allow productive discourse to happen.
Who Made It
CivicMark was created by Guustaaf Damave, a Dutchman living in Taiwan, who believes in the value of civil discourse. The charter is permanent and will never change. The mark is free for anyone to use.
